This beautiful etching discloses how the majestic paintings of Diebenkorn's Ocean Park series grew from lines.
In many ways Ocean Park works on
canvas are drawn paintings. This large etching responded to the tremulous, direct hand of the artist.
It shows by design how Diebenkorn opened the
center from multiple framing edges and Golden Rectangle proportions. The etching retains smudges and fingerprints as intimate as touch.
